Learn with Judie
Judie Russell has over 15 years of experience in all areas of video production. From presenting and editing TV shows, to working behind the scenes on movies and running her own weekly magazine series.
Judie makes the video production process simple, breaking it down to what you need to know to produce professional videos in-house; using your phone, affordable equipment and beginner-friendly software.
What you'll learn
The Vidacademy session will show you how to produce one video, step by step.
The course is divided into three sections:
- Plan a video using The Vidacademy’s 8 Step Process.
- Film with a phone like a pro and Present to camera with confidence.
- Edit videos using affordable and beginner friendly apps and desktop software.Â
PLAN
Your video will only ever be as good as your plan and the planning should always remain in your hands! Even if you decide to work with video professionals after taking this course you’ll be in a much better position to retain control of the video’s purpose and story and can often reduce the cost of the production by keeping this part internal.
FILM
Feature length films released in cinemas have been shot on phones including Steve Soderberg’s psychological thriller Unsane, which he shot in two weeks on an iPhone Seven Plus. Your phone and some affordable and DIY gear is all you need to create awareness, increase understanding and inspire action from your viewers.
EDIT
In editing or post-production, the aim of a good editor is to make it look like they were never there – almost like the video seamlessly edited itself together without any jarring distractions. In this topic, you’ll be shown a live demo of ground-breaking desktop software and mobile app, Adobe Rush.
